Information Catalyst (ICE) is a UK SME. Founded in the late 1990s ICE started as a specialist consultancy assisting partners on commercial, RTD, software development and RDI activity. Its domain is sector generic but is orientated towards the business integration, business partnership, data value, project management and the RDI outsourcing sector. ICE provides/ed support and services to leading organisations such as TIE Kinetix, Vintura, Riverland, EAN International, Offis, the European Standards Institute (CEN), Ascora, and the European Commission. Key ICE personnel have been active in multiple large-scale EU projects, including as coordinator, project manager and WP/Tasks leads; these include Alfred (Well-being), CREMA (Big Data and Cloud), ARUM (Data Integration), Adventure (Manufacturing), SAM (Content Syndication), STASIS (Data Harmonisation), NESSI 2010 (Software and Service CSA) among others. In addition, ICE personnel have been active in multiple voluntary bodies; for example:
● Big Data Value Association (BDVA) where it is providing the secretariat and also sponsoring resources as Secretary General
● SME Board member of the Networked Software and Service Initiative (NESSI) where it has also been Steering Committee vice-chair and SME lead
● Several standardisation initiatives in ISO and CEN/ISSS, such as ISO10303-236, eBiz-TCF, funStep, etc.
ICE provides the CrowdHEALTH project with its RTD competences in software systems, services integration, data analytics, data harmonisation and process. It has acted as coordinator, WP lead, Technical Lead, Task Leads, Dissemination Leads, Project Manager both in commercial and research environments. ICE brings into the project the results of past projects, its experience and knowledge in data/interoperability solutions and approaches and services description. ICE CEO also provides the Big Data Value Association (BDV PPP Private Counterpart) Secretary General role.
