The main objective of our project is to deliver a secure ICT platform that seamlessly integrates Big Data technologies, providing Data as a Service (DaaS) and a Data Analysis Toolkit.

The front-end of the platform is the Policy Development Toolkit (PDT), which is health policy creation and evaluation environment, which does not only address the management of patients and population health records, but also provides advanced decision support, risk assessment and situational awareness, both in aggregated as well as in personalized fashion.

In our work in progress paper to be presented in MIE2018, we briefly discuss the design principles of the PDT. The PDT enables the processing of health data through the exploitation of collective knowledge that emerges from multiple information sources. The platform explores mechanisms that can be clustered across two main areas: analytics on holistic health data at population and individual level and predefined policy models exploiting community knowledge across the complete health ecosystem.

MIE2018 is the Medical Informatics Europe congress that will take place in Gothenburg, Sweden, April 24 to 26, 2018.
